American Muslims should not have to fear that serving their communities, holding public office, or simply practicing their faith will make them targets of violence.

The Michigan Democratic Party on Thursday filed a campaign finance complaint against Doug Lloyd, the Michigan Republican Party nominee for attorney general, alleging that his pre-convention finance report was knowingly both late and inaccurate.

U.S. Rep. John James, a Republican congressman from Shelby Township who is the GOP nominee for governor, made the announcement on Thursday morning, saying that DeBoyer would help him “lead the fight against corruption, fraud, waste, and abuse, protecting core services while fixing what’s broken.”

James Lawhorn, a 54-year-old resident of Wasilla, Alaska, was charged in federal court in Alaska with seven counts of making threats in interstate commerce and one count of stalking, according to a court filing. The threats allegedly included racist, anti-Muslim and anti-LGBTQ+ language, as well as death threats.
