The Michiganders for Money Out of Politics ballot proposal seeking to bar political contributions from major utility companies and government contractors is headed for the November ballot, after Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) said the chamber will not take up a version of the proposal in the Legislature.

Following up on a yearslong promise to release information on its investigation into the Flint Water Crisis, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and the Department of Attorney General issued a report Tuesday detailing the department’s efforts to pursue justice for the individuals harmed.

A federal appellate court has upheld a decision allowing Hamtramck to ban Pride flags on city-owned property. The ruling, issued Aug. 21 by the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, affirmed the Sept. 2025 dismissal by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan of a challenge to Hamtramck’s 2023 ban on flying Pride and other group flags on city-owned flagpoles.
